Overview

Neodymium – YAG laser is used to treat posterior capsular opacification, a condition that may occur after cataract surgery. This procedure known as YAG laser capsulotomy clears the visual axis by removing the center of the lazy posterior capsule safely, effectively and painlessly. YAG laser is also used to treat certain types of glaucoma by creating iridotomies, thus changing the configuration of the iris and improving drainage of the intraocular fluid.
